The Premier League was back in the midweek with some great fixtures. Liverpool, Manchester City and Spurs all grabbed victories over their respective opponents to keep up the pressure in the title race. A resolute Wolves side held onto a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, which turned out to be the upset of gameweek 15.
The match of the week, however, ended in draw, as Manchester United and Arsenal locked horns at Old Trafford. Let us now take a look at our team of the week from Gameweek 15.
Łukasz Fabiański : The Polish international continued his fine form in this campaign with another great performance. He denied Joe Ralls from the penalty spot early on in the match to give West Ham the much needed momentum. However, a last minute goal from Josh Murphy denied the 33-year-old a well-deserved clean sheet.
Right Back- Michail Antonio : Antonio scored his first goal of campaign to ensure West Ham ended the day with 3 points. A resolute performance from the Englishman, as West Ham continue to surge upwards in the league table.
Centre Back- Virgil Van Dijk : If Defending were an art, then would not be an exaggeration to call Van Dijk the Claude Monet of it. Another week and another stellar performance from the Dutch international, who is well on course to establish himself as one of the top defenders in the world.
Centre Back- Willy Boly : Kept a potent Chelsea attack at bay along with his fellow defenders to ensure 3 priceless points for Wolves in gameweek 15.
Left Back- Charlie Daniels: A rugged performance from the seasoned campaigner who brings much needed stability to the Bournemouth back four.
Centre Midfield- James Milner: The Englishman seems to have aged like a fine wine, getting better with each passing year. He put in a combative performance in the midfield that saw him create 3 chances and score a well-deserved goal. A seasoned performance from a Premier League legend.
Centre Defensive Midfield- Lucas Torriera: Arguably the best player in his position in the league at this moment. Another great performance from the little Uruguayan who has proved to be the bargain of the season.
Centre Midfield- Christian Eriksen: A player who didn’t particularly start the season well, Eriksen has been catching up with the standards expected of him, lately. It was a great performance from the Dane who helped spurs cruise to a comfortable victory over a struggling Southampton side in gameweek 15.
Right Wing- Riyadh Mahrez: Mahrez bagged a goal and an assist as Manchester City continued its unbeaten run in the campaign. It was yet another great performance from the Algerian international as he continues to justify the exorbitant amount of money that City paid for him.
Striker- Lucas Pérez: The second Lucas on the list. Came on for the injured Marko Arnautović in the 40th minute and scored two big goals. The former Arsenal man sure had his shooting boots on as he continued to push for his inclusion in the starting XI.
Left Wing- Ryan Fraser: A player who has been a revelation this season. The Cherries’ man has been topping the assist charts for quite some time now. He bagged a goal and yet another assist during gameweek 15 to lead Bournemouth to an impressive 2-1 victory against Huddersfield Town.
Hence, here is the best eleven from gameweek 15:
