Manchester United will look to make a perfect start to their new European season with a trip to Switzerland where they will face Swiss League winners Young Boys at the Stade de Suisse in Bern.
Young Boys had failed in each of their five previous attempts to secure a spot in Europe’s top most competition, but it was sixth time lucky as they beat Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb to reach the group stage.
BSC Young Boys vs Manchester United Recent Form:
BSC Young Boys:
This might be Young Boys’ first-ever appearance in the group stages of the competition but certainly, they will be hoping for a positive result after a fine start to the campaign where they are still unbeaten after six games. They also had not conceded a goal until their fourth game and even then, have only conceded four league goals so far. They already remain eight points clear at the top of the table and have a far superior goal difference to any other team in the league.
Managed by Gerardo Seoane, Young Boys also defeated FC Schaffhausen last week 3-2 in the Swiss Cup to keep up their perfect domestic record, although given the game went to extra time it may swing in United’s favour as the players could remain weary a little bit.

On the other hand, Jose Mourinho’s side might be bursting with confidence after back-to-back wins in the Premier League but a setback during the earlier Premier league weeks intimates that the game might turn out as full of surprises. But, given that United looking for a strong punch this season after bowing out the last term in the round of 16 in hands of Sevilla and Young Boys on paper, the weakest opponent in the group they will be in full force to make their mark. Hence, anything but a win will be considered a poor result away from home.
