According to a recent report from the Sunday Mirror, Crystal Palace’s star winger Wilfried Zaha is reportedly interested in leaving Selhurst Park for Chelsea FC. However, Zaha has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspurs for the past two years
Recent reports do not yet confirm whose chances are more in signing the talented winger. But, it is sure that the former Manchester United player is currently willing to leave Crystal Palace before the transfer window next Thursday.
Several reports have actually claimed that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is immensely interested in signing Zaha, but the club is apparently not willing to pay the midfielder’s £75 million asking price.
Chelsea FC, however, are reportedly in the driver’s seat to sign Zaha from Palace and as for the 25-year-old himself, he is seemingly also looking forward to taking the next step in his playing career.
However, Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has recently stated that he is not willing to sell Zaha this summer and while speaking with talkSPORT, the former England national team manager revealed his thoughts on this issue.
Hodgson said, “I spoke to Wilf yesterday and he certainly gave me no indication it was true about wanting to quit the club. In fact, we were talking about how good the new signings were and how they would help us. The thing with Wilf is very simple. He’s very much an integral part of our plans. He’s very much an integral part of Crystal Palace Football Club. ‘So, my hope and my plan absolutely is that he will stay. I’ll let the speculation continue and I will continue happy to work with him.”
Zaha, who is currently in his second stint with Palace, has previously represented one of Chelsea’s biggest league rivals, in the form of Manchester United, in the past.
However, the 25-year-old is rather much-more habituated in playing in Palace colors having played 110 games for the club in his first stint from 2010-2013 and 113 games since he made his return to the club three years ago.
