The Premier League season is back. It is less than a week to go before the ball starts rolling once again in the world’s most competitive and glamorous league. Fantasy Premier League or FPL is back with PL too, and fans all across the world are doing some last minute changes to their squads in a bid to become the best virtual manager in the World.

We at Sports-nova, have taken a deep look into the scenario of the most popular strategy game in the world, and have come up with a list of top 7 players who you must have in your Fantasy Premier League Team.

David de Gea (Manchester United):

Position: Goalkeeper.
Price: £6m
Last season score: 172
Last season position rank: 1st

He might have had a howler of a World Cup, but it will be criminal to forget what this man has done for his club in the last few seasons. The highest scoring goalkeeper of last Fantasy Premier League season, is the costliest goalkeeper this time around. But any given day, having the Spaniard in the team is as good as it gets, as he is probably the only keeper who can still rope in a lot of points, despite not keeping a clean sheet (remember last year’s match at the Emirates!).

Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea FC):

Position: Defender.
Price: £6.5m
Last season score: 175
Last season position rank: 1st

It came as a huge surprise when the Chelsea full back was not involved in the World Cup for Spain, despite being called up to the squad. The 28-year old garnered the highest points amongst defenders last season, scoring twice, assisting 6 and keeping 15 clean sheets. If there’s any go to defender in Fantasy Premier League, it has to be “Azpi”.

Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspurs):

Position: Midfielder.
Price: £9.5m
Last season score: 199
Last season position rank: 4th

The Danish midfielder was his country’s top performer in the recently concluded World Cup where the Scandinavian nation were knocked out in penalties by finalists Croatia. The Dane is one of the best assister in the world and also has a knack of scoring spectacular goals. The 26-year old scored 11 goals and assisted 10 in the past season. With a very modest price, Eriksen will be an almost bargain for the Fantasy Premier League owners.

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City):

Position: Midfielder.
Price: £10.0m
Last season score: 209
Last season position rank: 3rd

The Belgian midfielder is the new holder of the record for the most assists in a single Premier League season, after he assisted 18 times for his teammates last season. The 2018 World Cup star also scored 8 goals in City’s record breaking last season. It will be a criminal offence to not include the 27-year old in the Fantasy team.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC):

Position: Midfielder.
Price: £13.0m
Last season score: 303
Last season position rank: 1st

The Egyptian King had the dream first season at Liverpool in 2017-18 and his numbers reflect just that. He scored 32 goals and assisted 12 for his team mate last season, becoming the highest scorer ever in the History of a 38-team Premier League season. Not only should the Liverpool man be selected, but should also be the firm favourite for any Fantasy Premier League team.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City):

Position: Forward.
Price: £9.0m
Last season score: 183
Last season position rank: 2nd

The Leicester City forward is probably the most underrated forward player in the whole league. The England striker scored 20-times last season, with 2 assists, and had an incredible scoring record against the top 6 oppositions. At a bargain price of £9.0m for a forward, the 31-year old will be an asset to any Fantasy Premier League team.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspurs):

Position: Forward.
Price: £12.5m
Last season score: 217
Last season position rank: 1st

The England captain scored 29 goals* last season with 2 assists to his name. This was the 4th season running that the 25-year old netted 20+ goals after scoring 21, 25 and 29 respectively in the previous 3 seasons. Kane has always been a Fantasy Premier League darling, and given his current form, the same is not scheduled to change anytime soon.
