Chelsea star Pedro Rodriguez has signed a new deal to continue his stay with the London club, according to the club.
The Londoners released a post in their website stating that the Spain International ha signed a one year extension to his contract, that will make him at the services for the Blues till 2020. The 31-year-old, a World Cup and European Championships winner with Spain, joined Chelsea in 2015 and has since made 131 appearances across all competitions, winning the league title in 2017 and the FA Cup last term after they beat Manchester United in the finals.
The Spainard joined the Blues from Barcelona, where he made over 300 appearances and won more than 20 titles, which includes 3 Champions league wins as well. He so far hs netted 31 times for the Premier League side, and 20 of them have come in the Premier League.
The veteran playmaker is seen as an important member by the new Chelsea boss and his decisions is said to be influential in Pedro’s extension.
“It’s important for me to continue with Chelsea, I am comfortable here and want to win new titles and trophies. I want to help the team, score goals, and I repeat, I am really happy,” Pedro told the club’s website earlier this week.
It will be an important season for Chelsea as well as they couldn’t even get Champions League and will be playing in the Europa League. Amid this, there has been specxulations surrounding the future of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, as two of the talismans may well be on their way out of the club this summer while the former is tipped to make a move to Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus.
Chelsea play Manchester City on tomorrow in the Community Shield before their league campaign starts with a trip to Huddersfield on next week.
