There have been a lot of rumors and news going around Manchester United star Anthony Martial, especially after Jose Mourinho’s comments a few days ago. But, here is one good news for his fans. The Frenchman has returned to training at United, and it seems that he might not leave the club after all.

The winger was a crucial part of United’s preseason tour at the United States, for many first team players including Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were rested following their World Cup endeavor. Martial got the chance to start the first two matches as well. However, after that, he was allowed to leave to be with his wife, who was scheduled to have the second child.

Interestingly, Mourinho expressed his discontent afterwards, when the player did not return immediately after the birth of his child.

“Anthony Martial has the baby and after the baby is born – beautiful baby, full of health, thank God – he should be here and he is not here,” the boss said. The 22 year old also took it out on the manager and responded in Twitter, saying that his family comes first.

The United player tweeted: “Thank you all for your posts. My little Swan is fine, for the mom it was harder but thanks to God she’s better now. Sorry but my family will always come first… Back tomorrow in Manchester.”

This was enough to spark the rumors about Martial’s possible exit from Old Trafford. Since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last winter, both Martial and Marcus Rashford have got very less game-time. Both fans and pundits have voiced their opinion that the talented French attacker should now move to some other club where he gets to play regularly. In fact, several big clubs around Europe were speculated to be monitoring him.

In the latest of those news, Daily Star columnist Diario Gol has reported that Mourinho has offered the United star to Real Madrid for a whooping fee of £89m. The Spanish side have just sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus and they definitely have the cash to splash at any player they like. Moreover, one pacey left winger like Martial will surely be very useful for them. However, more experienced Chelsea player Eden Hazard has repeatedly been linked to Madrid, and hence it is not yet sure whether the La Liga side will go all-out for the Manchester United attacker.

The Red Devils will play their last preseason friendly on Sunday, against Bayern Munich. After that, they will take on Leicester City on the Premier League opener on 10th August.

  1. Just warn Jose,
Selling Martial will be a disaster for him in Old trafford,
As we fans will assassinate him and his son,
If Jose sell Martial he will be a prey to we fans
Enough if selling our future stars.
This us why Manutd board must sign precontract agreement with Zidane,
I’m convinced Zidane will return us to winning ways like in the days of SAF,
I’m happy that Ed Woodward valued Martial potentials, he is a super talent, needs time to play, see his goal statistics,he surpassed all strikers in United shirt now.
How can you swap a 30 years William with 22 years yoingster,
We fans of Manutd will not mourn like Chelsea after the so called Special nonsense sold all their futures like Sallah,De brunel etc.
Finally if Jose sell Martial, let Manutd be ready to do Jose funeral.

    • I agree with your point that Martial should not be sold. But, let’s not put these comments on the manager. Everyone makes mistake.
