The buzz of World Cup football has slowed down the tempo of the transfer business and rumor mills, but the clubs are working tirelessly to convince their preferred options and presenting them enticing offers to join their ranks fending off interests of the rivals.
Bernard, the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger, is now a free agent and is on the radar of many esteemed European outfits. There are offers from China as well, but the Brazilian is currently waiting for the right move amid rumored interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
The English giants have reportedly contacted the 25-year-old’s entourage but no concrete offer has been made so far and West Ham United, their league counterparts, are also keen on the winger to bolster their attack following a long-term injury misfortune of their prized asset Manuel Lanzini. Bernard is rated highly back in his country and also played a part in World Cup 2014 held in Brazil. But he fell down the pecking orders in recent months due to the upsurge of several new Brazilians who are ruling the European football and the former Atletico Mineiro prodigy is now on a mission to re-establish his reputation elsewhere.
The winger let his contract run down in Ukraine last season despite playing a major part in their title triumph netting 10 and assisting 4 times in 29 appearances altogether. But he is now focusing on a new challenge out of his comfort zone and a move to Premier League can’t be ruled out considering his availability on a Bosman move.
Liverpool are linked to a move for Moses Simon and Xherdan Shaqiri to increase depth as well as quality in the attacking third to compete for silverware but, at the same time, are assessing other options as well. Arsenal, having missed out on Gelson Martins (close to joining Atletico Madrid), might dive into the transfer market once again in search of a new attacker. They have already bolstered themselves significantly with several new inclusions, yet Bernard’s pace, movements and attacking flair will strengthen them further down the flanks and the Brazilian will be a decent addition to the squad if a deal is struck in coming days.
