Class of 92 has been one of the best things that have happened to Manchester United. The magnificent group of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers continued to play for the club for a long time. And now, the legacy is about to continue, as United have completed the signing of Harvey Neville, son of Phil, one of the illustrious members of that class.
This recent development has naturally made Harvey’s father extremely happy. The ex-United defender, currently England women’s team manager, posted in Instagram: “Proud of you Harvey. Go follow your dreams.”
Harvey Neville, the son of Phil, started his youth career at Manchester United only. But then, he moved to the rivals Manchester City and was in fact the part of the Under-13 squad which won the Premier League international tournament in 2015.
Next, the youngster moved to Valencia to play for their youth team. Around that time, his father was the assistant manager at the Spanish club for a brief period of time, while his uncle Gary Neville, another member of the celebrated Class of 92, was the coach of the senior side. Later in 2016, Harvey signed a new contract with Valencia.
However, following his departure from Valencia last month, the youngster has penned down a contract that will see him join the Manchester United youth setup, run by another former club legend Nicky Butt.
Following the signing, the 15 year old himself commented, “I am very proud and excited to have signed for the club I have supported my whole life.”
Harvey can play as a midfielder or winger and has showed glimpses to become a good addition for the Premier League outfit. But, can he continue the family tradition and play like his father and uncle to become a United legend? Only time can tell that!
