Arsene Wenger will like to have Russian sensation Aleksandr Golovin at his team if he returns to a managerial position at a new club, the player’s agent confirmed on Friday.
Golovin has emerged as a Russian star player in the World Cup
The former Arsenal manager left the Gunners at the end of the season and says that he will be loving to have the Russian midfielder at his new team. Golovin has been one of the stars of Russia and is clearly a very talented player with massive potential.
The 22 year old was at Arsenal’s radar last season but a move could not be materialized, and Arsene Wenger highlighted his performance in Russia’s first two matches which vividly concludes that the Frenchman still admires the CSKA Moskva player.
And FIFA agent Sandor Varga confirmed that Wenger has eye on the player and may well coup him from the grasp ofg Arsenal. He was asked about the possibilities of Golovin joining Chelsea in the summer but the agent conceded that Wenger can also mentor Golovin in the coming days.
“I asked Arsene about Golovin, the Frenchman said, “I do not know what Arsenal will do, but I’ll take him for myself.” Varga also added, “Arsene wants to work. While there is no certainty, we negotiated with two clubs, but did not come to an agreement. But if Wenger takes [charge of] any team, Golovin will have another option.”
New Gunners manager Unai Emery is said to be also interested in the 22 year old Russian international and are planning to make a move for him. So it will be interesting to see whether Wenger can lure the Russian to his new team if at all he returns in the managerial job.
