Rojo was a crucial member of the Argentina side in the 2014 World Cup. Unfortunately, in the Final, the South American giants failed to go all the way, as an extra-time goal from Mario Gotze ensured the title for Germany.

With only a few days to go before the FIFA World Cup 2018, the Manchester United star has revealed his determination to get to the ultimate success this time.

While talking to Inside United, Rojo commented, “Obviously, it’s a really important thing and a big deal for any Argentinian to wear that shirt. We really feel the shirt a lot and we defend our colours.

“We give everything when we are wearing it and we want payback for the way things happened at the last World Cup. We will do everything to give our fans the possibility to celebrate winning the trophy again.”

Lionel Messi and co will face Israel on Saturday, for their last friendly before the extravaganza. They then start the World Cup proceedings on 16th June against Iceland. This time, Argentina and Iceland have been drawn in Group D, the other two sides being Croatia and Nigeria. Should everything go as planned, last time’s runner-ups will be able to top Group C, and in that case, they are expected to face Denmark in the Round of sixteen.

The Manchester United star signed off with a note on their group and on the skipper, “We’ve got Nigeria again! I think it’s three or four times now we’ve been drawn with Nigeria and it will be a difficult group. Croatia and Iceland are in there too. Hopefully, Lionel Messi will be in form and can do something for us.”
