With Liverpool signing Fabinho and Manchester City close to announcing a couple of new recruits United are losing the plot, as it seems at the moment.

But the Red Devils could announce a number of signings in coming days to start the proceedings. Five years have passed since United last lifted the Premier League title and Jose Mourinho has failed to deliver once again. But the team have shown promises last season and with a number of new inclusions, they would be able to throw a strong challenge in the upcoming campaign.

The Portuguese gaffer has a number of problems to address with defence and midfield being the main barriers to their title challenge last time. Mourinho is planning to overhaul his side and as a result, the English side are finalizing a number of transfers.

United have been negotiating a transfer with Porto for Diogo Dalot and the Portuguese youngster could be seen wearing the red jersey anytime.

Rejigging the defence has been Mourinho’s top priorities and he is trying to inject some energy to the side. The intent and drive to survive in this competitive league is pretty fierce and both Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia will be turning 33 this year so it would be a bit difficult for them to maintain the same energy level week in and out.

Next on the line is a midfielder who would be able to free Paul Pogba more from his defensive duties and Fred seems to be the missing puzzle that Mourinho has been looking for. The midfield powerhouse does have the tenacity and flair to provide United a cutting edge which has been missing.

A central defender is also in the shopping list of Mourinho and United have been linked with Toby Alderweireld. The Tottenham Hotspur defender was frozen by Mauricio Pochettino following the arrival of Davinson Sanchez and the Belgian international’s contract is also scheduled to expire next summer. Despite United’s astute defending performance last season Mourinho wants to land another man who can lead the backline.

Although United are pretty well stocked in the attacking department but the gaffer is assessing the situation very closely and we might see another attacker, possibly a right-winger, joining the Manchester based outfit. There have been talks of Marko Arnautovic while the idea of bringing Gareth Bale sounds pretty outrageous.

With these possible new signings, let us now have a look at the possible Manchester United lineup for the next season.
