Following the recent departure of long term manager Arsene Wenger, Premier League giants Arsenal FC seem to be in full contention to spend a huge amount of money in preparation of the forthcoming Premier League season.
The Gunners, who are currently without a manager, are currently pushing ahead for a potential move for defender Caglar Soyuncu from German club Freiburg.
According to a recent report from Telegraph Sports, The Gunners have now seemingly completed their interview process, but apparently, none of the likely managerial candidates have been asked regarding a possible move for Soyuncu.
However, regardless of that, Arsenal are still currently pretty confident and interested in their pursuit of the 21-year-old Turkish international, as they look forward to prepare a deal worth up to £35million.
In addition to Arsenal, several other Premier League clubs have also shown their interest in Soyuncu, but as of right now, the Gunners remain as the favorites to land the Turkish international to the Emirates.
The Gunners’ Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat has been apparently pushing hard for a move for Soyuncu from Freiburg to Arsenal, just as he did for current Arsenal superstars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Konstantinos Mavropanos, who was evidently unknown to Wenger.
Mislintat has played a very important role for The Gunners and has once again taken the lead on Arsenal’s transfer business during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, another option open to Arsenal is that they could possibly wait for the appointment of a brand new manager, with Mikel Arteta currently in firm contention to become the new boss. Afterwards, eventually they could wait for the green light from their next manager before committing to the signing of Soyuncu.
Soyuncu, who has already proved himself to be a pretty solid asset for Freiburg, certainly has the capability of staying put at the back and holding Arsenal defense.
