Despite winning the league in the very first season, Antonio Conte’s second year with Chelsea has not gone down well. The Stamford Bridge side are currently fifth in the league but with one week to go in the 2017-18 campaign, they can still achieve one major goal and qualify for next season’s Champions League if outcomes work their way over their final two matches.
The Blues will be hosting Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge next with both teams desperate to win and get all three points. The defending champions will look to keep the pressure on Tottenham and Liverpool for a top-four spot who are two and three points above them respectively when they face a Huddersfield Town side which, on the other hand, are also battling for survival in their very next game.
Chelsea – DWWWWW
After getting a big win over Liverpool last weekend it will give the Blues a lot of confidence as they head into the final home game of the season. Chelsea have run into form at the perfect time as they head into Wednesday’s game with four straight wins and while being unbeaten in their last five Premier League fixtures.
Huddersfield Town – LLDWLD
Huddersfield on the other hand also would travel to London with tons of belief after they brilliantly earned a point at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, battling champions Manchester City to a scoreless draw.
The newbie in the Premier League are just three points adrift of the relegation place and now need at least one point to ensure their safety. Huddersfield have taken four points off City and neighbours Manchester United this season, a record which will surely give David Wagner’s men a lot of boosts.
Chelsea vs Huddersfield Town – Team News:
Injured Alvaro Morata who missed the last game against Liverpool will be available for the game as per Conte, however, they will be without David Luiz and Ethan Ampadu who are already out with injury issues.
Huddersfield on the other hand, have been handed a major boost as their star player Tom Ince has returned to full fitness for the visitors and now could start the game for Terriers. However, they could miss one key player from their starting 11 after defender Chris Lowe picked up knocks in the goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium.
