Manchester United may have had a pretty torrid time in the Premier League but when it comes to signing talents they have been one of the most influential clubs in the world. Jose Mourinho already signed a number of players last season but the gaffer has been chalking plans for the upcoming season and we might see a plethora of new names at the Old Trafford.
According to reports, United have an agreement in place for Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić. The reported fee agreed between the two clubs is believed to be a staggering £80m. Should he arrive at the Theater Of Dreams he would be the second player who is destined to cross the £80m following Paul Pogba’s arrival from Juventus for £89m.
A midfielder has always been a priority for Mourinho following their struggle in the middle of the pitch this season. Despite the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea in the summer, the Red Devils have failed to stamp authority this season.
Michael Carrick is poised to join Mourinho’s coaching team next season while there has been confusion regarding Marouane Fellaini’s contractual situation. The Belgian international is in his last year of the contract and hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet.
Milinković-Savić has had a rollercoaster ride for Lazio this season and the Italian giant might end up in the last automatic qualification spot for the UEFA Champions League. Savic is regarded among the most exquisite midfielders in the European circuit right now and all eyes will be on him in the World Cup next month.
Standing at six feet four, the lanky midfielder possesses excellent technical ability and could be very effective at both ends of the pitch. From intercepting opposition attack to creating chances the youngster could be the focal point of United’s attack next season. He has won over 50 tackles this season and has created over 40 chances which explain why clubs are vying for his signature.
The talented midfielder is only 23 years old and has years of football ahead of him. So he could be a pretty good investment for Manchester United.
