Champions League: AS Roma vs Liverpool Preview, Line-ups, Betting Odds and Live Streaming

Liverpool will be cautious following Roma's 3-0 victory at home against FC Barcelona in a similar scenario.

Jurgen Klopp’s juggernaut scored five against AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg tie at Anfield but conceded two late goals which kept the Serie A giant killers in contention to make it through to the final of this prestigious event.

Roma have to replicate a similar show to what they did against Barcelona and script another 3-0 victory, whereas Liverpool need to defend the lead like they managed against Manchester City in the quarter-final. The ambiance at Stadio Olimpico will be hostile, but the Reds must not lose their focus and composure having full control over the tie.

AS Roma vs Liverpool Injuries And Suspensions:

AS Roma are set to miss Rick Karsdorp and Gregoire Defrel with ACL and ankle injuries. But doubts remain over the availability of Kevin Strootman and Diego Perotti who suffered rib and ankle injuries recently and face a race against time to be fit for the Wednesday night tie.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Matip who are ruled out for the season with knee and thigh injuries. Emre Can remains sidelined with a back strain whereas Adam Lallana is back in training but the Roma game will be too early to be involved. Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold remains doubtful with knocks but working hard to be fit for the midweek tie. Sadio Mane, although missed the Stoke City game with a thigh strain, is back on the training pitch and set to feature against AS Roma on Wednesday night.

AS Roma vs Liverpool Last Meeting:

The first leg tie at Anfield ended in a seven-goal thriller. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored twice each whereas Sadio Mane netted one to earn the Reds a 5-0 lead. Roma, however, hit back late in the game when Edin Dzeko scored and Diego Perotti converted a spot-kick to decrease the deficit.

AS Roma vs Liverpool Key Players:

Roma will be relying on hitman Edin Dzeko who has been in a great scoring run of late. A midfield of Radja Nainggolan, Daniele De Rossi, and Kevin Strootman will be difficult to deal with.

Liverpool’s front trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino need to hit back on the counter to take the tie beyond Roma’s reach. Jordan Henderson and James Milner will have to play a big part in the middle of the park whereas Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren must be resilient in deep defensive line.
