Indian Premier League 2018’s second boys will travel to Jaipur to face Rajasthan Royals who have been in good touch for the last two games and will look forward to continue that winning streak.
Ajinkya Rahane led Rajasthan Royals have won back to back games after losing their first outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their last match was at Bengaluru, against Royal Challengers. It was a fantastic day for Rahane’s men, as they managed to clinch a victory in this high-scoring affair. In-form batsman Sanju Samson scored a 45-ball-92 to demolish the Bangalore bowling and help Rajasthan pile up 217. In response, the star-studded batting lineup of the home side could only get 198.
In a similar but more dominating fashion, Kolkata Knight Riders notched a win in their last match as well. Playing at home, Kolkata was put to bat first by Delhi Daredevils. And then, onslaughts from Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell took them to 200 from 20 overs. Delhi never looked comfortable while chasing and in front of the spin attack of Kolkata, they bundled up in a paltry 129.
The home side’s only weak point has been Rahane’s opening partner D’Arcy Short who has failed to put proper impact so far. Rajasthan might want to try someone else in his position, and the options are Henrich Klaasen or Jofra Archer. In that case, Jos Buttler or Rahul Tripathi will start the innings with the skipper. It will be interesting to see what the team management decide to do in this match.
Kolkata, on the other hand, have been on a great touch. Especially, their spin trio Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla have been excellent. Youngster Shivam Mavi also took his maiden IPL wicket in the last game and bowled in excess of 140kph speed. With both bowling and batting sorted, there is little chance that Dinesh Karthik will go for any change in this trip to Rajasthan.
