The potential suitors of Serie A giants AS Roma’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker have been dealt a huge blow in their transfer chase as the club president James Pallotta has clearly stated that there is “no way” his custodian will be sold in the coming Summer.

The 25-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper has been in fine form for the last two years and has established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in Italy.

Alisson secured his transfer to Roma in 2016, leaving Brazilian side Internacional for just £7million, however, he spent most of his first season as a backup keeper to loanee Wojciech Szczęsny.

However, with the former Arsenal player acquiring a move to Juventus during this summer, Alisson was called upon as the first choice and the 25-year-old hasn’t failed to deliver.

The player recently has been linked with a big-money move to La Liga giants Real Madrid whereas Premier League powerhouse Liverpool are also said to be holding talks for the player to land him in the Summer as a replacement of struggling Mignolet.

The goalkeeper has still three years left on his current contract and it was assumed that a hefty fee for the goalkeeper could make the Serie A club selling the player.

But dissing all such rumours, ahead of Roma’s Champions League semi-final trip to Anfield next week, Pallotta has now firmly suggested the Italian side has no desire to cash in on a player and furthermore they will not even listen to any offers as he looks to hold on to the 25-year-old.

“We have no intention of selling him,” Pallotta told Sky Sport Italia.

“I mean zero at all. I’m sure some people will probably come in with some bids, but I don’t have any interest in selling him, he’s a great goalkeeper. When we got him, I thought the same thing and as far as I’m concerned, I mean no!” the president further added.

Alisson’s performances in Europe have been especially impressive throughout this season as the Brazilian number 1 is yet to concede a goal at the Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League this season against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Qarabag, Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona.

Alisson has played 42 matches in all competitions this season and has kept 19 clean sheets overall.
