Bournemouth vs Manchester United : Preview, Lineups, Betting odds and TV guide

The Red Devils will try to bounce back from their recent defeat.

After a disastrous defeat against West Bromwich Albion, Jose Mourinho takes his team to the Vitality Stadium to face a mid-table AFC Bournemouth. It will be a match to seek some consolation and regain the confidence ahead of the FA Cup semifinal against Tottenham this weekend.

Bournemouth are at the 11th spot of the league table, 10 points above the drop zone, and are looking strong to aim for a top half finish this season. Manchester United, on the other hand, have already handed the title over to their noisy neighbours. But, they will try to get all the points from this fixture to consolidate their second spot in the league log.

Last time they met:

In the reverse fixture, Juan Mata’s cross found Romelu Lukaku in the opponent box, and the Belgian made no mistake to head it home. That goal was the difference between the two teams at Old Trafford as United managed a narrow 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Injury news and probable lineups:

Bournemouth will miss their long-term absentees Tyrone Mings, Junior Stanislas and Adam Smith. But, other first team players will be available for selection.

The boss, Eddi Howe, is not expected to make major changes to the first eleven. However, Callum Wilson, who was dropped to the bench in the last game, can return to the starting lineup ahead of Jermain Defoe. He might prove to be crucial to score an early goal against the Premier League’s second boys. Following is the expected lineup for Bournemouth.

Manchester United, on the other hand, will have no major injury concerns. They have to do only without the reserve goalkeeper Sergio Romero. But, considering recent performances and the impending trip to the Wembley, there is a chance of revamp in the starting lineup.

Mourinho might recall Eric Bailly in the center of the defense. Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial all started in the bench quite a few times over the last weeks; and all might get opportunities against Bournemouth. Ander Herrera can also make an appearance to partner Nemanja Matic in the middle. Should all of these happen, Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez will be the ones to make ways.

Betting odds:

Bournemouth win: 15/4
Draw: 14/5
Manchester United win: 8/11
