Arsenal news : Thierry Henry furious with Arsene Wenger’s rotation policies at this stage

Burnley are close behind Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Last Sunday was a day of upsets, as West Bromwich defeated Manchester United and Newcastle United came back from behind against Arsenal. The latter, in particular, can have huge impact on the final standing of the league, and that has infuriated Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

With that Arsenal defeat, thanks to the win earlier that weekend, Burnley has moved closer to the sixth spot. They are in fact just two points behind the Gunners and with four matches to go, it might be their best chance to claim a European spot for the next season.

This clearly has come as a shock to Henry and he reiterated what he mentioned as a warning two weeks ago. The former Arsenal star was right to point out that Arsene Wenger cannot relax because Burnley are only two points behind Arsenal and they do not have other things to worry about, unlike Arsenal who are not putting all their focus on winning the Europa League.

It is true that the Arsenal boss is rotating his squad a lot to accommodate youngsters, and to keep his main players fit for the Europa League outings. The Premier League giants have progressed to the semifinal and are going to face Atletico Madrid in the two-legged tie. It  is, beyond doubt, a huge fixture and winning the Europa will ensure a Champions League spot for the Gunners. Henry understands that and appreciated the thinking of giving chances to the young players. But, he also thinks that Arsenal need to be cautious.

He said, “It is kind of a weird one because you want to put all our focus on the Europa League and it was great to see Joe Willock today and Reiss Nelson the other week – you want to see youngsters, – but at the minute, you can’t really play on ‘we can rotate and have it easy in the league’ while thinking about the Europa League.”

“If they go out to Atletico Madrid, suddenly you’re fighting with Burnley – what an amazing job that Sean Dyche has done by the way – and you’re out of everything.

“I don’t think that will happen – maybe it’s my Arsenal side coming out – but [Wenger] rested some good players today and ended up losing the game. You need to think carefully about how you are going to play those last few games,” Thierry Henry further added.

Comment below if you think Henry’s concerns are justified and Wenger needs to stop rotation.
