India will be travelling to England and Ireland in June for a long tour this year that will have series of all three formats of the game.
India won the series in England in 2007
India will be on tour to first Ireland and then England from June 27 to September 11 on a bilateral series in both the countries.
Ahead of the 2019 World Cup, it will be the final preparation for the Indian side in English conditions where the batsmen will be tested amid swinging and seaming conditions. Also the visitors will be intending to rewrite new pages as their past couple of tours to England have been abysmal.
At Ireland, team India will play two T20 Internationals, and then they will move to England to resume their main tour.
In England, a 3 match T20I and 3 match ODI series will be played before both the old foes play out a five match test series.
India Recent Record:
India don’t have a good record in England particularly in the longest form of the game. MS Dhoni led side in 2011 collapsed to a 4-0 loss in the test series while in 2014, another MS Dhoni led side lost the series again 3-1.
Before that the things were better in tours for India as in 2007 Rahul Dravid led India won a three match test series in England 1-0, while in 2002, India drew 1-1 in the Test series at England under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly.
