The Gunners won 3-0 at the Emirates against Stoke and all the goals came late in the match. It was heading towards another frustrating afternoon at the Emirates but the tide turned when Ozil was tripped by Martins Indi and the North London side was awarded a penalty. Arsenal was awarded another penalty late in the game, and the Gabonese striker gave up his chance to score a hat trick and instead let Alexandre Lacazette take the spot kick to ‘aid’ his confidence. The Frenchman converted the spot kick and this amazing gesture for his teammate has been hailed by Wenger.

When asked if he was surprised by it, the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger replied, “No, because I know they have a good understanding.

“That shows as well the state of our society, that we are surprised. I like that [gesture], it can only make the team stronger,” the Gunners manager added.
