IPL News: Four Indian Under 19 players to look forward in this season’s Indian Premier League

There are many names that can shine in this year's IPL.


Indian Premier League often reverberates the birth of a new talent, and precisely so. Over the years we have witnessed many young, raw and unknown names have risen in the fame courtesy of IPL.

We have seen the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Basil Thampi, Sandeep Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Pawan Negi and others who have made a name for themselves in the IPL and some of them are playing for India as well. And this year another set of young teenage Indian talents await to showcase their credentials to the world.

There are many names that can shine in this year’s IPL, many of the Under 19 Indian team players have got a team and the Under 19 Champions will be eyeing to kick start their budding career in a positive way.

We shall take a look at the four probable players who can have a real blast of a premier IPL-

Shubman Gill:

This young man has been a prolific performer in the Under 19 World Cup and was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping INR 1.8 crore. His stylish batting and composed mindset attracted the KKR franchise, and the young man will play a part in their season as the Knights have a small squad. Under the guidance of Kallis and Katich, Shubman can really thrive as a player in KKR and it will be the best for Indian cricket.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti:

Perhaps the most valuable player of the Indian Under 19 team, and was sold to KKR for 3.2 crore. His pacey bowling and outstanding fielding makes him an important part of the squad, and it has to be seen how he copes up with the pressure of IPL. His bowling speed consistently clocks over 145 kmph and even after the World Cup he bowled well in the domestic tournaments.

Nagarkoti will play for Kolkata Knight Riders

Anukul Roy:

Went to Mumbai Indians for a modest price of 20 lakhs, but this man can be a lethal weapon for the Mumbai Indians. His lethal left arm spin can be handy in the Wankhede pitch and his quick arm action along with lack of flight can be utilized by the Mumbai think tank. He can also slog a bit down the order, but bowling is the main attribute for Anukul and the Jharkhand boy will be eyeing to do well.

Prithvi Shaw:

India’s captain fantastic went to Delhi Daredevils for INR 1.2 crore. Shaw has made a great name for himself in the domestic arena and had a terrific ranji season. Shaw amassed 537 runs from six matches with three centuries in Ranji and also scored runs in the Under 19 World Cup.

Prithvi Shaw was sold to Delhi Daredevils

He is a part of the young batting brigade of Delhi that consists Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and others and can come good under the guidance of Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir has a tendency of giving young players chance and Shaw can make a name for himself if he grabs his opportunities.


Other Indian players who can have a bright IPL are Manjot Kalra who was sold to Delhi Daredevils and Abhishek Sharma who was also sold to Delhi.
