Video: Goals of the Week from Premier League Gameweek 28

Shaqiri continues his fine form in Stoke City's survival race and tops our list for Goal of the Week.

The Weekend of Premier League Gameweek 28 is over and the race for the top 4 and the battle to avoid the relegation are getting more interesting than before. While top 4 contenders Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspurs registered victories to solidify their claim, Chelsea FC’s defeat against rivals Manchester United dealt a huge blow to their hopes of a top 4 finish. Here are the top goals of the week:

3.) Troy Deeney(Watford FC) vs Everton FC:

English striker Troy Deeney ended his goal drought after scoring a brilliant goal that saw them defeat Everton FC and come within 1 point of them. Substitutes Spaniard Kiko Fermenia and Stefano Okaka combined to tee up the English striker inside the crowded Everton penalty box. After a brilliant first touch to keep hold of the ball, Deeney made a swift turn before unleashing a thunderous strike in between a converging trio of Ashley Williams, Michael Keane and Idrissa Gueye to score the winning goal.

2.) Adam Smith (AFC Bournemouth) vs Newcastle United:

AFC Bournemouth showed tremendous character to salvage a point against The Magpies after being 0-2 down up until 80 minutes. Substitute Adam Smith scored a brilliant goal in the 80th minute to bring The Cherries back in the game at the Vitality Stadium. Norwegian forward Joshua King’s short pass to Dan Gosling was quickly back-heeled onto the path of the English defender on the edge of the box. Smith’s shot from the edge of the penalty area went in powerfully off the crossbar giving Martin Dubravka no chance.

1.) Xherdan Shaquiri(Stoke City) vs Leicester City:

Xherdan Shaquiri scored another superb solo goal that helped The Potters stay within a point of safety from the drop zone. This is our goal of the week. Holding onto Joe Allen’s pass, the Swiss superstar ran solo with the ball from close to the midfield before opening up some space 7-8 yards outside the box. The Alpine Messi then curled in a right footed shot in between the defending duo of Ben Chilwell and Wes Morgan away from the reach of Kasper Schmeichel.
