Liverpool star attacker Sadio mane has backed his side for a second place finish this season ahead of Manchester United as he expressed his side is capable of ending the season on a high.
Mane snatched one and Liverpool scored four in the most recent match against West Ham to achieve the second spot in front of Manchester United until the point when the Red Devil’s won the next day against Chelsea which again dropped them back to third with two points difference.
But the former Southampton player now has proposed that despite the fact that this term it is difficult to get ahead of the leaders Manchester City who are 15 points ahead with one game in hand but his team can claim the second spot behind them with 10 matches still left.
“Of course we can stay there,” the Senegal international told reporters.
“We have got a great team. This is football and anything can happen. “We have a goal to speak about and, as a team, we are going to do our best. We will try to win — and why can’t we win all the remaining games?
“Second is one of our targets. Honestly, Manchester City are too far ahead and it will be difficult to catch them, but it is still possible to be second and we are going to do our best to get it.”
Liverpool are as of now competing in just two rivalries, Premier League and Champions League and practically just in the European Competition, they have the opportunity to get the silverware.
In their last match against Portuguese pioneers Porto, the Kops fired five goals past them and now Mane has reckoned with momentum on their hand, they will attempt to steer the team as far as possible.
When queried whether they could win the Champions league, Mane said: “We are going to try to do our best.”
Liverpool will hold Newcastle United to Anfield for their next Premier League match in the coming week and in the following week will play United in a high voltage match which can produce a big say on the final outcome of final a second spot finish in the league table.
