Football News: Cristiano Ronaldo comments on Portugal’s chances of winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo is not considering Portugal as favourites in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

While recently speaking with YouTube channel Central Desimpedidos, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo made a bold statement as he claimed that he could possibly walk away from the game of football and retire happily, after having ‘won everything’ in football.

The 33-year-old forward stated, he never dreamed of winning five Ballon d’Or awards and if he indeed had to finish his career at this stage, then he would do it super happily as he claimed that he has won everything that this game has to offer.

“If I win another one, two or three Ballon d’Ors then I will be delighted if not I already won five.”– Ronaldo stated.

However, when asked about his dreams of winning the FIFA World Cup with Portugal, Ronaldo said that he sincerely believes that does not have any more dreams in the game of football, as he has already achieved everything he ever dreamed of in this game.

“I really think I have achieved so many nice things that I don’t have any more dreams.”– Ronaldo added.

But, that being said, CR7 did additionally insist that he obviously would love to lift the FIFA World Cup with his nation of Portugal and would love to keep winning and achieving in his career.

Additionally, Ronaldo also weighed in on his team’s chances during this year’s FIFA World Cup as he said that he believes that his team is definitely not the favourite to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. But, despite the odds stacked against them, Ronaldo believes that he and his team need to stay humble and honest and understand that there are the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Spain, and Germany, who are much bigger names than Portugal.

“We are not favourites but anything is possible.”- Ronaldo stated.

Portugal, who have been drawn along with Spain, Morocco, and Iran in Group B of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, will look to cause an upset much like the 2016 European Championship in France.
