De Gea, 27, has been the subject of transfer speculation over a move to Madrid since his move to the Santiago Bernabeu amazingly fallen because of a flawed fax machine in 2015.

“I feel like an important player in the dressing room. I am one of the oldest in the team.

“It makes me happy to see the younger players coming through – and trying to make United big.”

De Gea joined Manchester United in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and after some underlying battle in his essential days, the 27-year-old gradually built up himself among the world’s most first-class goalkeepers.
