The Premier League returned to the weekends after 2 weeks with a few mouth watering clashes on offer.
In the biggest clash of the game week, some late drama ensured Tottenham came from behind to snatch a point at Anfield against Liverpool FC. Chelsea FC slumped to their second successive loss via 3-goal margin after losing to Watford FC at Vicarage Road. While league leaders City were held by Burnley at Turf Moor, Manchester United won against Huddersfield and new look Arsenal decimated Everton at home. The week produced a hand full of awesome goals. Here are our picks of the week:
Danilo (Manchester City) vs Burnley:
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC) vs Tottenham Hotspurs:
Eden Hazard (Chelsea FC) vs Watford FC:
James Ward Prowse (Southampton FC) vs West Bromwich Albion:
Javier Hernandez (West Ham United) vs Brighton and Hove Albion:
Pascal Gross (Brighton and Hove Albion) vs West Ham United:
3.) Mario Lemina (Southampton FC) vs West Bromwich Albion:
The Saints returned to winning ways after coming from behind to snatch a very important win at The Hawthorns courtesy 3 brilliant goals; but none was as good as midfielder Mario Lemina’s equalising goal. Southampton were trailing to an early Hegazi strike deep into the first half. James Ward Prowse’s short pass from corner was brilliantly controlled by Sofiane Boufal before passing to the Gabonese midfielder. The former Juventus player then hit a brilliant first time half volley from 25 yards out, that gave Ben Foster no chance.
2.) Victor Wanyama(Tottenham Hotspurs) vs Liverpool FC:
In the high octane high drama match, Spurs equalised through substitute Victor Wanyama in spectacular fashion. Ben Davies’ cross from the left was not expertly dealt by Loris Karius and his weak punching clearance fell in the way of the Kenyan midfielder. The 26-year old took a sudden shot with his right foot. The half volley flew into the top right corner with a slight hint of out-swing.
1.) José Izquierdo(Brighton and Hove Albion) vs West Ham:
If the Colombian forward’s goal at the London Stadium was great, his goal against the Hammers at the Amex Stadium was nothing short of out of the world and is also our goal of the week. Pascal Gross’s corner was deflected of team mate Shane Duffy’s shoulders to fall into Izquierdo’s feet at the junction of the penalty box lines. His right footed curler was so inch perfect that even a full stretched Adrian couldn’t stop the ball from hitting the exact right top corner of the goal.
😱 we've got all angles covered of Jose Izquierdo's stunner on Saturday against West Ham United in the Premier League…#BHAFC 🔵⚪️
