Ainsley Maitland Niles has been a real sensation this season and has made many appearances for the club. He started as a left back in the Europa League this season but strings of good displays made Wenger to select him even in the league games, where he fared pretty good as well. He kept the likes of Sead Kolasinac on the bench and Wenger also rates the 20 year old very highly.

Maitland-Niles has more than 18 months to run on his current deal, but Arsenal want to secure his future and reward him for his progress with a new long-term contract.

He has been good in defense, tracking back and tackling but along with that the 20 year old has been a handful in the attack as well. Though left back is not his natural position but he did well there, and Arsene Wenger said that he will get many time in the midfield in the coming years.

Niles is at the Arsenal since a nine year old kid and also a childhood Arsenal supporter, as he revealed recently. The 20 year old also is an England youth International and was a part of team that won the Under 20 World Cup last year. The young man made his debut in a Champions League match in 2014 at an age of 2017 against Galatasaray, thus became the second youngest Arsenal player to feature in a Champions League match. He has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
