After some FA Cup actions, Premier League has returned with some exciting fixtures for Gameweek 25.
The actions will kickstart with Arsenal’s challenging trip to Swansea City, who will be high on confidence after defeating Liverpool in the last outing. The Reds, on the other hand, go head to head against Huddersfield and will look forward to bounce back from recent form which has seen them crash out of FA Cup as well. On Wednesday, Chelsea and Manchester City will see easy opponents, but the week will totally wait for the extravaganza of Tottenham vs Manchester United. Here are the complete fixtures of Gameweek 25.
Can Liverpool get back to winning ways?
After a surprise 4-3 victory against league leaders Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp’s side has succumbed to back to back defeats against Swansea and West Bromwich (in FA Cup). In Gameweek 25, they are traveling to Huddersfield who have had the history of making things difficult for big teams. They already won against Manchester United and fought hard against the league toppers. Mo Salah and co will have to switch on to attacking mode right from the start, should they want to remain on the race to top four this season.
Will Henrikh Mkhitaryan start for Arsenal?
In the most celebrated transfer deal, Manchester United acquired Alexis Sanchez while Mkhitaryan went on the reverse direction. Pundits have opined that the Armenian will be better suited in the Arsenal style, but it will be interesting to see whether Arsene Wenger decides to give him a starting berth right away. It is, however, certain that the former Borussia Dortmund player will get some game time against Swansea and he will definitely try his best to make it memorable.
Injury worries for Chelsea:
Antonio Conte has been unfortunate with three major injury concerns. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois missed the last couple of weeks with an ankle injury and he might have to sit out the Gameweek 25 fixture as well. In addition, in-form midfielder Willian and striker Alvaro Morata have been out of action as well. While Pedro can be an able replacement of the former, Conte will have to content with Mitchy Batshuayi in place of Morata. Under these circumstances, it will be entirely on Eden Hazard to deliver and make it count for the Blues.
Manchester United’s trip to Wembley:
Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham will be locking horns with Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in Gameweek 25, and this is, without an iota of doubt, the biggest fixture to watch out for. On one hand, we have Harry Kane and co who have been in ecstatic form of late; while on the other, there will be Alexis Sanchez donning the United jersey first time in a Premier League game. The Chilean got some gametime in the FA Cup match against Yeovil Town, and he was also adjudged Man of the Match for his decent performance throughout. But, this time, there will be huge expectations from the expensive signing and it will be fantastic to see whether he can live up to that.
