Match Review:

Yeovil Town started the match with positive intent, and did not just sit back and defend to the core. However, the hosts were finding it really hard to break the defense of United. The visitors, on the other hand, were enjoying most of the possessions in the first half and they were very good going forward. The likes of Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford linked very well with the new signing and they created some chances to take the lead against the minnows.

One of the best chances definitely came to Scott McTominay who got a nice pass from Sanchez took a low shot to the left bottom corner, but saw it saved by the Yeovil goalkeeper. Eventually, Rashford was the one to draw the first blood. The English international was fed another delicious ball by none other than Alexis Sanchez and he tried to go past two opponent defenders. The Yeovil players actually managed to snatch the ball from Rashford, but they hesitated for a second to clear the ball and the United forward pounced on this chance. The youngster capitalized on the hesitation and took a brilliant shot to send the ball home and the away side were 1-0 up before the break.

Manchester United doubled their lead after the hour mark. It was Sanchez again who built up the play. Through a counter attack, Mata got the ball in the middle of the pitch and he passed it to the Chilean. The new number seven then provided a great assist to Ander Herrera who needed one touch to settle himself and another to drill a powerful shot to beat the Yeovil custodian.
