Arsenal vs Chelsea: Carabao Cup Semi Final Preview, Team News, Probable Line Up, Betting Odds and TV Guide

Gunners have lost once at home this season.

A period of litmus tests starts at the Emirates for the Gunners as they take on Chelsea in the second leg of the Carabao Cup Semi Final on Wednesday. Gunners are without their star player Alexis Sanchez and it will be a tough test for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Injury and Team News:

Gunners will be missing Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck who have hamstring and groin problems respectively. They are also without Santi Cazorla, while Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal are expected to feature. The Spanish left back was taken off in Arsenal’s last league game after some minor injury. New signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is cup tied and therefore will be unable to play for the North London side. Ozil and Lacazette are expected to start as the home side have no FA Cup ties in the coming weekend as they are already out of it.

Morata won’t take any part on Wednesday

Blues will miss Morata and Cesc Fabregas, as the Spanish duo won’t travel at the Emirates due to their back and hamstring injuries respectively. Danny Drinkwater and Gary Cahill faces late fitness tests, and Michy Batshuayi may get a rare start for the Blues in the Carabao Cup.

Arsene Wenger’s side will have to cope with life without Sanchez, but so far it has started well in their last League match against Crystal Palace. They managed a 0-0 draw in the 1st leg of the Carabao Cup, which also was Sanchez’s last game as an Arsenal player. It has to be seen how the approach is as the North London club has Carabao Cup only as the only competition to win any domestic silverware this season.

Jack Wilshere has found his old form for Arsenal

Gunners have been strong at home but earlier in the month the Blues came away with a point at the Emirates, that was also salvaged for Arsenal at the dying minutes by Hector Bellerin. The midfield battle is something to keep an eye on between the likes of Kante, Wilshere and others. The Blues were menacing as well in their last league game as they thrashed Brighton 4-0 at the coast side. Conte will definitely be eyeing to advance to the finals of the Carabao Cup to rest some of the recent loss of steadiness at the West London club.
