Breaking: Arsenal sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United as Sanchez goes the opposite way

There is reportedly no cash involved in this deal.


Arsenal have signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, a deal that has seen Alexis Sanchez going to the other way.

Want away Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez was poised to leave the Emirates this season as he declined to extend his contract. The Chilean was favorite to join Manchester City, but ended up landing at the Old Trafford with a huge pay rise, approximately £400k per week.

But his deal would have been off if the Gunners wouldn’t have got Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return, as the 29 year old Armenian is highly rated by Arsene Wenger. There were words from both the managers that the swap deal is very close and it has been officially announced by both the clubs.

Sanchez joins Man United from Arsenal

Sanchez flew to Old Trafford in the weekend and Mkhitaryan likewise came to London, both got their medical done and now it can be said that the hottest transfer topic of the whole season is done and dusted, with a major coup for United as some say.

Sanchez was unveiled by Man Utd and the Chilean gave his first interview.

“I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world. I have spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at Arsenal and I bring with me very positive memories of that great club and its fans. The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down,” he said.

Mkhitaryan on the other hand was unveiled by the Gunners and he said that it’s a dream come true for him to play for the Arsenal.

“I’m very happy that we could finish this deal and I’m very happy to be here. It’s a dream come true because I’ve always dreamed of playing for Arsenal. Now that I’m here, I’ll do my best for this club to create history,” the Armenian said on his first interview.
