Chelsea’s goal drought has cost them severely in recent games and despite clinching an edgy win ( in tie-breaker) over Championship outfit Norwich City this midweek in an Emirates FA Cup replay at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are looking far from settled in such a crucial phase of the campaign.
Their Saturday afternoon trip to Falmer Stadium is not going to be a stroll in the park with significant absentees and the hosts, Brighton and Hove Albion, will be looking to bounce back shaking off their late shambles and improve their status in a potential relegation battle.
Brighton vs Chelsea Injuries and Suspensions:
Brighton will be without Steve Sidwell following his long-standing injury whereas Chelsea loanee Isaiah Brown suffered an unfortunate ACL rupture that rules him out for the rest of the campaign. He has returned to his parent club.
Chelsea have a couple of suspensions in form of Pedro and Alvaro Morata who received marching orders against Norwich City. Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill are major doubts following their hamstring strains, but Ross Barkley might make his first Chelsea appearance since completing a January move from Everton and is expected to make it to the matchday squad against the Seagulls.
