Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin left the Gunners for La Liga side Valencia last week.
Coquelin ended his 9 years stint with Arsenal, with whom he has won 2 FA Cups and a couple of Community Shield, was a fan favorite for the passion he showed on the pitch. Though the midfielder left the Gunners, he wanted to bid adieu the Arsenal faithfuls through a message.
We can read the transcript of Coquelin’s message below-
on how much it meant to have the fans’ backing:
I understand what they feel – their love for the club, I understand that. I was at Arsenal for nine years and it was like a second family to me. I understand the frustration when the results are not going well. We had an honest relationship and the fans have always been amazing towards me. It’s been great.
All my team-mates, from top to bottom, the players and the staff have been amazing. I respect a lot what Arsenal is all about and what it represents. I will miss everyone obviously, but I’m also looking forward to what happens where I am now.
