Following a successful festive season in term of league results, Liverpool have some unfinished business left against Everton who escaped with a lucky draw at Anfield a few weeks back.
The Merseyside rivals, however, will meet once again this Friday night for the FA Cup 3rd Round tie and a last-gasp winner against Burnley at Turf Moor has uplifted the spirit among Jurgen Klopp’s men. Everton, on the other hand, suffered their first defeat under Sam Allardyce last weekend against Bournemouth which continued on Monday evening when they surrendered 2-0 against Manchester United at Goodison Park.
This fixture will allow the Reds to seek their revenge on their Merseyside counterparts and progress through to the next round of the competition that they are eyeing to conquer in order to end their trophy drought.
Liverpool vs Everton Injuries And Suspensions:
Liverpool are set to miss out skipper Jordan Henderson with a hamstring strain whereas Alvaro Morata is still a couple of weeks away from making a return following his ankle injury. Daniel Sturridge is uncertain with a thigh strain. Nathaniel Clyne remains the long-term absentee following his back surgery but both Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho are expected to be fit ahead of the derby clash despite missing out the Burnley game with minor strains.
Everton will be without two of their fullbacks Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines with calf injuries whereas Ramiro Funes Mori is still a few months away to recover following a knee surgery. Ross Barkley is not fit yet, so if custodian Maarten Stekelenburg who are ruled out for the Liverpool clash.
