The last game week of 2017 was pretty dull with only 16 goals from 9 games including 4 “0-0” draws. Here are our top picks from the game week:
3) Pedro Rodriguez (Chelsea FC) vs Stoke City:
Following some brilliant individual skills, Brazilian star Willian got the better of the Stoke defenders, and then he found the Spanish international. The Chelsea number 11 got away from Josh Tymon before unleashing a right footer into the bottom left corner beyond the outstretched hands of Butland.
2) Danny Drinkwater (Chelsea FC) vs Stoke City:
The former Premier League winner with Leicester City made only his 3rd start in the league for Chelsea since his summer move. In his 9th appearance altogether, the Englishman finally found the back of the net against The Potters. After Pedro Rodriguez’s attempted cross was blocked by defender Thomas Edwards, it deflected onto the path of Drinkwater. After receiving the ball with his chest, the Chelsea number 6’s shot with the out step of the boot sailed into the top right corner giving Jack Butland no chance to react.
1) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC) vs Leicester City:
Two things are constant when Liverpool are playing. First is sloppy defence, and second is Mohamed Salah scoring a spectacular goal. While Liverpool conceded early against the 2016 champions due to a defensive fault, Liverpool’s Prophet “Mohamed” scored twice to get the 3 points for his team. His first goal vs The Foxes is our best goal of the game week.
After receiving Sadio Mane’s extraordinary back heel pass, Super Salah went round 3 Leicester defenders with ease before scoring past an onrushing Kasper Schmeichel.
