Four major talking points ahead of Premier League game week 22

Arsenal vs Chelsea is the biggest attraction of the upcoming Premier League game week.

In the busiest period of the Premier League, eleven matches will be played in game week 22, and the viewers are indeed in for a glorious start to the new year.

Here is the complete fixture of game week 22, and we will see what might be the major talking points of this gameweek.

Clash of titans:

Most certainly, the biggest fixture of game week 22 is the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea. Antonio Conte’s team have leapfrogged Manchester United to move on to the second position of the league table. Their confidence will be high following the 5-0 thrashing of Stoke City. Arsenal, on the other hand, are at the fifth spot in the table but the morale might be down following their 1-1 draw against West Bromwich in the last match of previous gameweek. All in all, the spectators can expect a mouth-watering fixture from the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United need a win:

The Red Devils have drawn consecutive three matches and Jose Mourinho desperately need a win to get his team back on track. The chance to secure the coveted Premier League title seems far-fetched at the moment, considering that Manchester City are already 15 points up. But, United will have their Champions League game in a couple of weeks, and it is of immense importance that they get a win to boost the morale of the whole team. Especially, the game week 22 fixture against Everton is going to be the last match before the international break kicks in, and so, Mourinho will want nothing less than three points from this outing.

Double-header for Tottenham:

Tottenham did not play in game week 21, and they will have two matches in three days. Fortunately for them, Harry Kane and co will play against two of the bottom three teams – West Ham and Swansea City. Mauricio Pochettino will hope for back to back wins and should that happen, Tottenham will have a chance to put huge pressure on the top four after the international break. Spurs are only four points below fourth placed Liverpool, with one game in hand.

Can Salah continue his show?

Mo Salah is, without an iota of doubt, the best signing of the season. He has already scored 17 goals and registered five assists as well. In the last match, the Egyptian scored a brace when his team were 0-1 behind against Leicester City. Thanks to the winger’s spectacular display, the Reds managed to snatch three points against the 2016 league champions. As Liverpool are getting ready to take a trip to in-form Burnley in game week 22, it will be interesting to see whether Salah can continue his destructive form against one of the most organized defense in the Premier League this season.
