Analysis : Is Harry Kane the most influential striker in World Football today?

Tottenham striker Harry Kane is shattering all records these days.

Over the last few years, the likes of Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy have always constantly been mentioned on the elite list of top English strikers. However, after a splendid 2017, one man who is all set to take over that elite list is none other than Tottenham Hotspurs’ star man Harry Kane.

Kane, who made his first-team debut for Spurs back in 2011, has been one of the hottest players on the entire planet throughout 2017. Since the beginning of 2014/15, Kane has scored a total of 65 goals in the Premier League and earlier this year the Spurs number ten became the top goal scorer in Europe surpassing FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who are arguably two of the best players in the world today.

The 24-year-old is also regarded as one of the most consistent strikers in the world today; the Englishman has scored 21 goals during the 2014/15 season and also bagged the Golden Boot the following year with 25 goals to his name.

Kane currently has 19 goals to his name and has been the most influential player on Mauricio Pochettino’s side, the Spurs striker has single-handedly helped his side defeat the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool FC, and Borussia Dortmund this season.

Harry Kane is definitely regarded as the best striker in English football right now and one factor that has helped him in achieving this accolade is the age factor. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has also labelled his top striker as ‘priceless’ and made a bold statement by claiming that Kane is capable enough of becoming Tottenham’s Francesco Totti. The former Leicester striker has also been praised by some of the greats of the game such as Gianluigi Buffon, who said that Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet today and there is no question about that.

Despite being targeted by some of the top teams in the world right now, it seems like Kane will stick to playing for Spurs for a few years to come. If the English striker does indeed stay loyal to the North London club, then it can be stated that Spurs have a real gem of a player in their ranks who is totally capable of becoming a club legend.
