Premier League: Liverpool vs Swansea City Preview, Lineups, Betting Odds and Live Streaming

Liverpool will be determined to avoid last season's disappointment against the Swans and grab all three points following a futile home run.

Liverpool’s season has been a tale of inconsistency and unpredictability so far with some persistent and predictable erroneous defensive displays. They gave away a 2-goal lead against the Gunners on Friday night and conceded thrice within 6 minutes only to settle for a 3-3 draw at Emirates Stadium.

However, they are still clinging the fourth spot in the Premier League tally and their Tuesday evening outing against bottom-placed Swansea City will hand them an opportunity to retain that for at least another gameweek. The Swans are playing for their survival and recently sacked Paul Clement who failed to take them out of the drop zone. They, meanwhile, instigated a late escape last season under Clement defeating the Reds at Anfield, Liverpool, being fragile and lack of mental strength, will always be concerned ahead of their Boxing Day encounter against the Welsh outfit.

Liverpool vs Swansea City Injuries And Suspensions:

Liverpool suffered a fresh injury concern when skipper Jordan Henderson limped off the field within 10 minutes of the Arsenal clash with a suspected thigh strain. Joel Matip and Daniel Sturridge have returned to full training but will go through a late fitness test before earning a first-team recall. Alberto Moreno is still unavailable with his ankle injury whereas right-back Nathaniel Clyne remains a long-term absentee following his back surgery.

Swansea City will be without defender Kyle Bartley due to a knee injury. Wayne Routledge and Wilfried Bony are set to miss the clash with their respective muscular and thigh strains. Sung-Yueng Ki and Leroy Fer are doubtful too and will go through late fitness tests whereas Leon Britton, the player-manager, will be in the dugout only to perform his managerial duties due to a calf injury.

Liverpool vs Swansea City Last Meeting:

Their last meeting at Anfield ended in a shocker for the hosts who were humbled by the Swans by 3-2 back in January. Fernando Llorente scored twice in the second half which was canceled out by a Roberto Firmino brace. But Gylfi Sigurdsson put the visitors ahead once more which the Reds could not neutralize.

Liverpool vs Swansea City Key Players:

Liverpool have their defensive lapses and scoring goals might be the solution to seal a win. Their last home outing at Anfield ended in a barren draw against West Brom. Jurgen Klopp, the Reds boss, won’t be expecting a similar fate against another struggler and will be relying on his ‘Fab Four’ – Philippe Coutinho, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to bag goals.

Swansea City, on the other hand, will play for a result and try to maintain defensive composure against the free-scoring Reds. They will rely on Jordan Ayew and Tammy Abraham to find the back of the net.
