Injury and Team News:

Rajiv van La Parra will return to contention for the match. Van La Parra has served a three-game ban following his straight red card in the recent home defeat to Manchester City, while defender Michael Hefele is a doubt as he recently returned to full training following an achilles injury. Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer is unavailable.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner will be eyeing a 4-2-3-1 formation he is used to that had success as well in the season. Aaron Mooy is a key player for them and the pair of inform Mounie and Depoitre may not start together with the latter on the bench.

Alvaro Morata will miss the match due to a back problem, while David Luiz is also doubtful with a knee injury. Danny Drinkwater is also out with illness. Michy Batshuayi may lead the line for the Blues and Hazard and Pedro are expected to be on the wings, while Cesc Fabregas at the heart of the midfield.

Chelsea are currently 14 points behind leaders Manchester City and their weekend loss may well be the telling blow for the defense of their title. The Blues still will be needing a win at Huddersfield to keep up with the pace. It will not be easy against the Yorkshire side as they have done well at home. The newly promoted side with their home fans behind them can nick a point or all three against the mighty Blues. Conte already conceded that they can’t win the title but a win is very essential for them.

Managers Words:

David Wagner, Huddersfield Manager: “I would take an ugly set-piece goal if it settles the match in our favour. I will take everything against a team like Chelsea.”

Antonio Conte, Chelsea Manager: “I’m not happy because the last game we lost against West Ham. I like to win. When we lose I’m not happy. In 16 games we lost four games. My experience tells (me) it’s impossible to win the title.”
