On 10th December 2017, two of the most dominant clubs in the current Premier League season, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all set to go head-to-head in a match that could play a big role in this year’s Premier League title.
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently sitting on top of the league table with 43 points on board and are leading their city rivals Manchester United by eight points, who are currently in second place with 35 points registered to their name.
Manchester City have been in tremendous form since the start of the season and “The Citizens” have already registered thumping wins against the likes Liverpool FC (5-0), Arsenal FC (3-1), and Stoke City (7-2). City have also been on a great run in the UEFA Champions League this season, where they have outclassed teams like Napoli and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
If Pep Guardiola’s side continues to show such ruthlessness in front of goal, this coming Sunday, then Manchester United might not be able to answer back to their city rivals and could potentially end up on the losing side and that too by a heavy margin.
However, Jose Mourinho’s side does have one small advantage over the Pep Guardiola’s team, which is Manchester City’s shock defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, this past Thursday. “The Red Devils” will look capitalize on City’s 2-1 slip up against Donetsk and will try to close the gap between the two teams at the top of the table. If Manchester United does manage to pick up all three points at Old Trafford this Sunday, then the gap between the two sides will be shortened to five points.
