Review:

Sri Lanka were put to bat and the visitors were not in good rhythm as the Indian bowlers put the pressure on them straight away. The Lankans were bundled out for 205 as Ravi Ashwin was the pick of Indian bowlers with 4 wickets, while Jadeja and Ishant both got 3 wickets each. Skipper Dinesh Chandimal scored a fighting 57 for them.

India in reply were in mood of run making, as three of the top four scored a hundred or more. Vijay (128), Pujara (143) and Kohli (213) scored tons and Rohit Sharma also scored an unbeaten 100 to put up a gigantic score of 610 for 6 before Virat Kohli declared it.

The Lankans were left with a huge trail of 405 and it was a hard task for them to grind out a draw from it. Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav ensured another dismal start for them in the 2nd innings as they were tottering 68 for 4 at a stage. Dinesh Chandimal agains played a valiant knock of 61 but he ran out of partners as Ashwin bamboozled them with his spin and the Lankans eventually bundled out for 166 in the second innings.
