Ozil was in hot form against Spurs

But Ozil has stuck to his humbleness and has praised his teammates for the outstanding victory. He spoke in the post match presentation and said that he has been enjoying his football at Arsenal and said that he is happy for his colleague Alexis Sanchez.

“Our aim was to give everything,” said the German.

“We believe in ourselves and at end of the day we’re really happy.”

The former Real Madrid man also added that he loves to play alongside Lacazette and Sanchez and as they have quality, they are always dangerous and can score at any time of the game.

Will the duo stay at Arsenal beyond this season? only time will tell

The German was particularly in praise for his Chilean teammate Alexis Sanchez, who also scored a goal in the match to complete the scoreline.

“Alexis especially today showed his quality and I’m really happy for him to score against Tottenham. We’re really happy to win this game,” Ozil added.

The duo has often been criticized for not turning up in the big matches for Arsenal, but today the critics were proved wrong as both Alexis and Ozil were in all guns blazing. Ozil assisted Mustafi for the first Arsenal goal, while Sanchez doubled the Gunners’ advantage in an utter pivotal match for them.

Both Ozil and Sanchez though are poised to leave Arsenal as early as the coming January window, as both of them haven’t penned a new contract and the current one expires at the end of this season. Arsenal’s win have taken them within a point of Spurs and second placed Manchester United, who are to play later on Saturday.
