Premier League news: Manchester City now favorite to sign top Serie A player

Manchester City are plotting a move for Paulo Dybala.

According to a recent report by the Daily Star, it seems like Premier League giants Manchester City are all set to spend their money in huge amounts in the transfer market once again, as The Citizens prepare a massive bid for Juventus’ star player Paulo Dybala.

Manchester City are currently standing as the favorites to sign the Juve frontman and according to several reports, he currently stands as Pep Guardiola’s top transfer target for the summer of 2018.

The Argentine forward has also been a major target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona and both the clubs have previously tried to sign the player in the past but were unable to succeed.

However, it seems like Pep Guardiola’s side now have a clear sight in signing Dybala and it looks like Manchester City could possibly beat both the La Liga teams and land the Argentine forward.

Dybala himself has also stated in the past that he has the desire to represent City in the near future and would like to play for the Manchester Club sometime down the road. He told Guerin Sportivo in 2015, that whenever he is on his PlayStation, he either chooses Barcelona or Manchester City and it is his dream to represent either one of those clubs in the future.

Dybala signed for Juventus two years ago from Palermo, for whom he played for three years. Ever since signing for The Old Lady, Dybala has been one of the most influential players in the Juventus squad.

He has represented the Serie A champions for a total of 77 matches and has 41 goals to his name so far. He has also won two Serie A titles with Juve, on two back to back occasions and also has a two Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa Italiana honors to his name.

Despite being targeted by several top clubs around Europe, Dybala still remains focused on his performances with Juventus and his country of Argentina. However, there is no doubt that he will be a great addition to the Manchester City squad if Pep Guardiola succeeds in signing the player in the future.
