Premier League football is set to recommence from this weekend following decisive two weeks of international football prior to next year’s FIFA World Cup and Liverpool, currently fifth in the league tally, are set to host Southampton in a Saturday afternoon encounter. The Reds grabbed a sensational 4-1 away win against West Ham United prior to the international break and will be determined to keep the momentum up against the Saints who had a slow start of the new campaign under new boss Mauricio Pellegrino.
Southampton, currently 13th in the league, are expected to sit back, defend deep and constitute counter attacking movements. But Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s charismatic German gaffer, will seek a win this term following four disappointing outings last season against the Hampshire outfit. The Reds failed to bring in Virgil Van Dijk, Southampton’s Dutch centre-back, despite the player’s transfer request and the whole saga will add more spice to the weekend clash.
