Mexico announce squad for their upcoming tough Friendlies in Europe

Mexico have qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.


Mexican boss Juan Carlos Osorio has selected his squad for the upcoming friendlies in November against Belgium and Poland. 26 players have been selected for El Tri’s trip to Europe as a preparation for the 2018 World Cup.

Players Dropped:

Defender Oswaldo Alanis has been dropped along with 22 year old midfielder Erick Gutierrez, who were a part of Mexico squad in the final two World Cup Qualifiers last month.


Two Mexican players have earned their first national call ups after their impressive performance in Europe.

Uriel Antuna for Mexico Under 20 

20 year old midfielder Uriel Antuna has got a call, he plays in Eredivisie with Groningen. Also another midfielder Omar Govea has got an opportunity in the senior squad, who plays for Excel Mouscron in Belgian top division.

Carlos Vela

Both the players are on loan from Manchester City and FC Porto respectively.

It will be a huge test for the Mexican players as playing Belgium and Poland in their conditions will be tough. Mexico’s World Cup preparation starts with these games and the Mexicans need to get their act right this time around.
