La Liga outfit Real Betis are preparing to give it another go for their quest to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to many sources.
The shocking move was on the cards this summer as Betis tried to sign him during the summer window, but the England midfielder rejected them and West Ham, and chose to stay at Arsenal. The 25-year-old has returned to action after his recovery from injury, but is yet to secure a place in the starting XI.
And the Spanish side have suddenly emerged as the front runners to sign him in January as they are preparing a good amount to lure him from the Emirates.
Jack Wilshere in Europa League this season
Wilshere recovered from his injury and has played eight games for Arsenal this season, six of which has come in the Carabao League Cup and Europa League. After some scintillating performances in Europa, Arsenal manager has included him in the squad as a substitute and he so far has made two appearances off the bench in the league, against Everton and Manchester City.
Injury problems has halted his progress many times
Wilshere is on his last year of contract and still no new deal talks have taken place.
With the World Cup approaching next summer, Wilshere will be eyeing a ticket to Russia and so far he hasn’t been regular at Arsenal, and a move to Real Betis promises him more game time than North London. But it is to be seen how the midfielder think about his situation as Wenger has publicly said that the 25 year old is nearing his best and he is prepared to give him more game time in the recent future.
Real Betis already have an Arsenal player in their squad as Costa Rican winger Joel Campbell is on loan at Betis. The Sevilla based club has already added some big names like Mexican midfielder Andres Guardado, former Barcelona man Cristian Tello and former Man City player Javi Garcia and are currently 8th in the La Liga table.
Betis will try to either snap him up this January or agree a deal to sign him up next season for free.
