The Premier League is now 11 game weeks old. The first week of November brought with it some exceptional goals, before heading into the last competitive international break before the 2018 World Cups. Here are our top goals of the week:
Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) vs Stoke City:
Riyad Mahrez is slowly creeping back to his old form and he showed a glimpse of the same in the match against Stoke. After turning provider for the first, he scored a brilliant solo goal. After receiving the ball on the right hand side from Wilfred Ndidi, the Algerian got the better of Erik Pieters and swung into the box. Following a brilliant run, the former player of the season, fired in a neat left footer beyond Jack Butland, while Kevin Wimmer, Ryan Shawcross and Darren Fletcher could do nothing to help prevent the outcome.
3) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool FC) vs West Ham United:
Mohamed Salah and goals are becoming synonymous this season after he scored another brace at the London stadium to down the Hammers. His second and The Reds’ fourth was a brilliant one. After some brilliant work on the ball, Sadio Mane found the Egyptian forward with a lofted cross on the edge of the box on the left side. The Liverpool number 11 received with his left foot before unleashing a bullet with the same to find the bottom right corner beyond the reach of Joe Hart.
2.) Son Heung-Min (Tottenham Hotspur) vs Crystal Palace:
Tottenham went back to winning ways in England against Crystal Palace, after two successive losses in the league and league cup were followed by a historic European victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Their solitary goal was scored by South Korean forward Son. Moussa Sissoko’s cross from the right was cut out by Mamadou Sakho, before Yohan Cabaye clearing the lines. But the Frenchman’s clearance fell straight onto the feet of the Korean just outside the box. The 25-year old magnificently curled in the ball with his left foot beyond the reach of Julian Speroni.
1) Rajiv van La Parra (Huddersfield Town vs West Bromwich):
Finally, best one of all goals from the last gameweek before the international break came from the most unlikely of sources (again!). Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra scored his first goal in the Premier League and what a goal it was! After receiving a short pass from team mate Scott Malone, the half brother of Liverpool FC midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, produced a stupendous right footed curler from about 30 yards out. His shot went flying into the top right corner while leaving The Baggies’ keeper Ben Foster rooted to the spot.
