Arsenal are in race to sign Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong along with Manchester City, according to various reports.
Both the managers are interested in De Jong
It is to believe that Arsene Wenger has personally contacted Ajax officials to materialize a potential deal for the midfielder, but the Gunners will have to battle it out with Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea for the young midfielder.

De Jong, 20, debuted for the Dutch giants last November and since then has been impressive for the club. He joined Ajax from Willem II in 2015 and has represented Ajax reserves side Jong Ajax as well. His creativity, passing range has been praised in Netherlands and the Premier League trio have been alerted and are tracking his progress.
So far De Jong has made 8 Eredivisie appearances this season as Ajax sit 2nd in the league table, behind the league leaders PSV Eindhoven.
The Sun reports that the three Premier League giants are all interested in him but Arsenal and Man City are at the pole position to sign him. Wenger and Pep Guardiola have already begun negotiations according to the outlet and both the London and Manchester club are confident that they can secure a deal for the Netherlands Under 21 International in this January transfer window.

It will cost around £5 million for Arsenal and City to sign the Ajax sensation and both the clubs are expected to involve in a bidding war for the 20 year old, who has 18 months left of his current contract with Ajax.
