Arsenal can ensure their spot in the last 32 of Europa League if the Gunners manage a win on Thursday against Red Star Belgrade. Arsene Wenger will be eyeing to continue their hundred percent record in the competition.
Olivier Giroud scored the winner in the last meeting
Arsene Wenger will be looking to rotate his squad in the game and the regulars in the league will be rested for the league encounter against Man City in the weekend. The Gunners managed to get all three points in the last meeting a fortnight ago thanks to a stunning Giroud goal, but Belgrade shown that they are a team capable to spoil the party in London.
It is also Arsenal’s first match after that administrative howler against Koln, where the safety of supporters were questioned due to thousands of invading Koln fans, so another thing Arsenal will have to keep in mind off the pitch.
Injury and Team News:
Petr Cech is most likely to start as Ospina is not fit yet. Calum Chambers is back in training but he may well be too early for Thursday. Also Giroud, Walcott and Wilshere are expected to start and some of the reserves will be up for the show as well. Mustafi, Cazorla and Welbeck are still long term absentees.
For the visitors, they will come with a full strength side as they have a lot do still to stay in the Europa League. Srnic, Radonjic and the Boakye will be starting, who is also under Chelsea’s radar. Right back Milan Rodic will play no part in the game as he is suspended, so Babic will be the man to come in for Thursday.
